My Recording has poor quality or is empty. What can I do?

If you’re experiencing problems with call recordings in TapeACall, such as poor audio quality or silent recordings, here’s a guide to help you understand and resolve them.

👉 Poor quality Recordings

If the audio was distorted during the call, it’s likely due to poor cell reception. TapeACall relies on 3-way calling between your line, the other person, and our recording line. Weak signal strength can reduce call quality or introduce feedback.

Try these steps:

  1. Move to an area with stronger cell reception before recording
  2. Try a different Access Number and test again
  3. If needed, uninstall the app, reboot your phone, and reinstall TapeACall

👉 Empty Recordings or music-only playback

If your recording is silent or only plays beeps or music, it means the merge step was missed, and our recording line stayed on hold.

To avoid this in the future:

  1. Always tap Merge Calls after starting the recording
  2. Make sure the conference call includes both your contact and the recording line

Unfortunately, audio can’t be recovered from unmerged calls.
