This issue happens whenever the TapeACall access number cannot recognize the phone number that is calling it.
To solve the issue, feel free to carry out the following suggestions:
1) Make sure the number you're using to call is the one used to activate your TapeACall account.
From the app, you can check this information in Settings > Account > Phone Number
2) Make sure Show Caller ID is enabled on your device.
👉 iOS
- Go to Settings > Phone
- Make sure Show My Caller ID is enabled
👉 Android
- Go to the Phone/Dialer app
- Select Menu in the top right corner (3 vertical dots).
- Go to Settings > Call Settings > Additional Settings > Caller ID > Show Number
This needs to be enabled so that our Access Number can recognize your phone number.
If the issue persists, try performing a fresh install of the app by following these simple steps:
- Delete the app
- Reboot your device and make sure your phone is updated to the latest version of the software
- Reinstall TapeACall by downloading it directly from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- You'll either be prompted to click the Restore Purchase button or enter your phone number to proceed with the on-screen setup instructions.
⚠️ If you changed your phone number, TapeACall will non recognize the new number and will return the error message. To solve this, don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@tapeacall.com to update the phone number in our system.
